Personal Profile: Young  researcher, Institute of Science and Technology for Brain-Inspired Intelligence (ISTBI), Fudan University. He has been engaged in biological research by big data, particularly focuses on the analysis of microbial populations by metagenome and fluorescence microscopic image methods. Before joining Fudan University, Louis has been engaged in postdoctoral research in the peer Bork group of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL). Louis studied with Bob Murphy and received a doctorate from Carnegie Mellon University. He has published more than 30 SCI papers in international famous journals such as Nature, Science and eLife, and developed a number of biological image processing and microbiological data analysis software packages.

Research Direction: Engage in biological research using big data methods. Particularly focuses on the analysis of microbial communities using metagenomic and fluorescence microscopy.
